June 6, 2018 (Pompano Beach, FL) – The Sigma Plastics Group is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of the assets of PolyPak American located in Los Angeles, CA. PolyPak was founded over 45 years ago by Richard Gurewitz who built PolyPak into a premier extruder, printer, and converter of heavy duty outdoor bags as well as mailer bags and other packaging.
PolyPak America will become a wholly owned division of Mercury Plastics of the Sigma Plastics Group. This acquisition allows Mercury to expand its product offerings and bring into its family a very experienced and talented group of team members. The new division of Mercury will be called Poly Pak Packaging and Caryn Fitleberg will be its Vice-President and Director of Operations. Caryn has over 30 years experience at PolyPak and the plastics industry. Other officers of Poly Pak Packaging will be Benjamin Deutsch, President and Co-CEO, and Andrew Teo, CFO.
Earlier this year, Mercury Plastics also acquired the assets of Western Concord Manufacturing and now have cutting edge technology to offer laminations, stand-up pouch bags, innolok rollstock and many specialty films in addition to the already wide variety of product offerings which Mercury provides to the fruit and vegetable, bakery, poultry, yogurt, frozen food and industrial market.
